Prophets have roles in national and global affairs – Prophet Oni

Prophet Oluwaranti John Oni is the founder of Dayglory Prayer Gospel Ministry, Ojodu-Berger, Lagos. In this interview, he speaks on the roles of prophets in the society, as well as on his life as a prophet of God. Excerpts:

CHRISTIANS all over the world recently celebrated Easter. Apart from the fact that people know this is the period that Jesus resurrected, what other significance is the period for Christians and people of the world?
The Easter period is the period that commemorates the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, so what are the scriptural significances of the season to Christianity? It is a moment of sober reflection to consider the sacrifices that Jesus Christ made for the redemption of mankind. It is also a moment of reconciliation, hope and new life. The following Bible verses have to be considers; Matthew 27:53-66, 28:1-10, John 11:24-25

As a prophet, what roles do you think prophecy can play in the spiritual development of our society?
Prophesy is a guardian that shows the right part to follow without missing one’s destination. 1 Samuel 9:6, 2 Chronicles 20:20.  Proverbs 29:18. People have watered down the efficacy of prophesy because of the attributes of fake and merchandise prophets, but God still uses His prophets to help and direct people in their daily activities. Prophecy is a tool used by God through his prophets to direct and cautions the people He loves. So when one is guided by God, then the society can be a better place.

In what ways do you think we can cultivate a more prophetic awareness and inclusiveness in our daily lives?
Only truth and total obedient to God’s instructions and command can unlock Gods agenda and purpose for us. 1samuel 13:10-13. The basic thing is obedience, through strict obedience to God’s words, one can achieve what he cannot achieve through fasting and prayer. We are required to obey the words of the prophets for a more spiritual and purposeful living.

What spiritual practices or disciplines do you recommend for deepening our relationships with divinity?
This is by seeking His face through fasting and prayer with righteousness. In Acts 10, the Bible says that the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. Where there is no fear of God, there will be atrocities and calamities. We must seek and fear God for His spirit to dwell in us.

Are there any specific areas of focus or change that you foresee as necessary for our growth and success?
This is by seeking God first before anything else. In Mathew 6:33, dedication and cultivation of quiet time to seek the face of God through the study of the word of God, communicate, reflect and create a relationship with God. It can be any length of time.

What do you understand by prophetic call within the Nigerian context, and what are the examples of prophetic revelations you have received and their impact on your ministry?
In every religion, there is a prophet, but the difference is the choice of religion that each person chooses determines the God he or she will serve. 1 Samuel 9:6, Jeremiah 1:5. There are three types of prophets; there are those who can only see a problem but can not proffer any solution; there are also those who can not see but can proffer solution once the issues are narrated to them and finally, there are those who can see and can equally proffer a solution to any problem. This is where many people want to key into, and gullible people usually fall into the hands of fake ones who claim to belong to this latter category of prophets. I am a born prophet who can see and proffer solutions; my prophetic gift started manifesting when I was only three years old. It placed me against my parents, at a time, my parents disowned me due to difficulties and disconnected family relationships, I went into armed robbery before God took hold of my life and my ministry was birthed.

Have you ever received a revelation specific to Nigeria’s challenges and future, if yes, kindly share details?
Yes, I was shown a vision some years back, I said something about a revolution in Nigeria that would shake everywhere. It was published and widely circulated by Horizon newspaper on November 2, 2009. I will try if I can get it from the file. It manifested in the EndSARS protest. Another revolution is coming and people should prepare for it.

You are reputed for dreams interpretation, how do you do that, and what advice can you give to people over their dreams, and what are the implications if any of someone was unable to remember his dreams?
My gift of dream interpretation is God’s gifts and grace, God gives everyone a gift to help him build his life and the world at large. Daniel 2, 1 Corinthians 12:8-10. There is nothing that will happen to a man without God first revealing that to him through dreams. One forgetting his dreams is an evil attack, and it can be sorted out through prayer and fasting and prophetic guidance. Look at Luke 25 v 45, Deuteronomy 29 v 29, Genesis 18 v 17, Psalms 24.

How do you address prophecies and dreams interpretations that didn’t come to pass?
Prophecy can be hindered, but it will surely come to pass. The issue we have as human beings is that we dictate time for prophecy, which is not in our capacity. God is the one who can make it happen at His own time, Isaiah 40:31. There is no genuine prophecy that doesn’t come through, it can only be delayed. Remember God’s angel coming to deliver answer to Daniel’s prayers and how he was hijacked on the way by the Prince of Persia, it was delayed until God sent Archangel Gabriel to rescue him and the message was delivered. We have to limit our human expectations, and allow God to do His work on our problems.

What are your thoughts on the roles of prophets in national and global affairs?
Prophets show the way to go and how to get out of any situation or challenges, they are mirrors that direct the part to follow in the affair of the global community. The only hindrance is the activities of counterfeit prophets which have watered down the original prophesy and that now makes the world to doubt if there are still genuine prophet. Proverbs 29:18. In the Bible Old Testament, every king worked under the supervision of a prophet. In Nigeria, today, the present regime. The price required for a prophecy to manifest is costly. There must be calm and quietness. Most times, expectations of prophetic manifestations tend to make us lazy. We want God to do everything for us.

Describe your personal faith journeys and spiritual practices, the roles of prayer and fasting in your ministry and personal life?
My journey is one of a rejected ‘stone’ that has now become a cornerstone that gives hope and solution to the world, I was disowned by my father because of bad life I lived in the past but thank God, Jesus Christ found me. It is a story for another day. In our ministry, we believe in fasting and prayer and prophesy and living in righteousness. Mathew 21:42, Mark 12:10, Luke 20:17, Isaiah 60. Every morning of May beginning for 6th to 27th which is my birthday, God gives me a special assignment which is carried out through a program is termed operation Healing without drugs. During the program, any kind of sickness can be healed, women revived fruit of the womb. The case of the wife of an ex Governor who was blessed with a fruit of the womb after 21 years of marriage is a pointer. Through the program also, God has blessed us with our ministry’s headquarters, a camp ground and others. The cardinal point is that the blessings of God manifests in the life of anyone that obeys him.
