His passion for music dates back to his early years in the mid-70s and early 80s with great influence by his parent’s musical background. This strong interest led him to great innovations, ranging from forming a musical group at an early age, to building their drums with different playing materials. This was at an age many of his age mates could hardly think of anything serious. His great mind has always been thinking of how to build and pursue his vocation with great zeal, while entertaining his audience. Indeed, he achieved it through diligence, resilience and ever-increasing passion. Let’s read more about him.

Sir, welcome to Interviewers magazine. Can you briefly tell us about your background?

Thank you, I feel honoured being featured on your Interviewers magazine. I started my musical journey from a young age, honing my skills and passion for singing. In 2003, I went on a break to explore other avenues, but I have now returned to the stage with a renewed energy and dedication to my craft. My music is influenced by a blend of genres and personal experiences, giving me the opportunity to create unique sounds that resonates with audiences of today.

Sir, music is mostly described as a product of inspiration. What first got you into music? Who, or what, inspired you?

For me, music has always been a deeply personal undertaking, catapulted by multitude of inspirations. From the soulful melodies to the new energy Afrobeat Icons, each artist I have encountered along the way has left a lasting imprint on my musical identity. However, it was the enormous support and encouragement of my family and friends that initially ignited my passion for music, inspiring me to pursue it with unwavering dedication.

How can you describe your type of music, and how has the public reaction to your music been?

I would describe my music as a blend of Euro Dance style with influences of Afro pop. The public reaction has been overwhelmingly positive, with listeners often praising my music, specifically on my lyrical contents, melodies, or energy in my music.

Many contemporary artists and musicians go into collaboration with other musicians to boost their work. Who would you like to collaborate with, either now or in the future?

There are so many talented artists out there, but if I have to choose someone to collaborate with, I think I would choose Davido, it would be a dream come true. I have never seen any artist in Nigerian like him, he is very skilful, and he has the magic of making hit songs all the time. I believe we could create something truly special together.

You are based in Europe and have spent a considerable number of years there. In what ways has your country of residence influenced your choice of songs?

Growing up and starting my career in Germany during the 90s had a significant impact on my music. Being part of the dance floor scene during that era, I was deeply influenced by the vibrant energy and innovation happening in the German music scene. The culture of electronic music and dance floor beats that thrived in Germany during that time undoubtedly shaped my style and approach to music. It was an environment where experimentation and pushing boundaries were encouraged, and that spirit continues to inspire my work to this day.

Do you write your songs, or you work with independent songwriters?

Yes, I majorly write my songs, produce and also co-produce.

Nigeria has a huge young population who are mostly music enthusiasts, how do you plan to enter the Nigerian music industry considering the heavy weights like Davido, Boy, Wizkid, Flavour among others who are making waves all over the world?

That’s a nice question. The truth is, entering the Nigerian music industry is a thrilling challenge, especially with giants like Davido, Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Flavour like you said, and many others too, dominating the scene. My approach would involve respecting the established artists while also bringing my unique sound and perspective to the table. Collaborating with some of them if possible, understanding the nuances of the Nigerian music market, and leveraging digital platforms and social media to connect with the young audience would be key strategies in making an impact and carving out a space for my music in Nigeria. It’s about finding my niche and offering something fresh and compelling to the diverse and dynamic music landscape of Nigeria.

Do you plan to sing about the decadence in Nigeria in any of your songs soon?

While Nigeria is part of a global village facing various challenges, my music aims to address universal themes that resonate with people worldwide. While I may not focus specifically on the decadence in Nigeria in any upcoming songs, I am committed to addressing social issues and promoting positive change through my music, regardless of geographical boundaries. My goal is to create music that inspires and uplifts listeners, sparking conversations and fostering empathy across cultures and communities.
